The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is somewhere between a still image and a video. The animations allow us to play scenes from current TV series, visualize memes or show reactions in a visual and funny way. The market for GIF images is booming. There are now even a number of online databases and search engines that allow you to search for GIF files and then share them. When we use GIFs in apps, we stand out from the crowd. The app is more interactive, fun, and dynamic. At first, integrating a GIF as the welcome screen of an iOS WebView app may seem difficult because iOS only displays the GIF statically and does not animate it.

Good news: Since the release of version 7.0 of the WebViewGold iOS App template, animated GIFs work as welcome screen by default.
